If you're reading this, I probably don't need to explain, but its good anyway. With the launch of SiteX 0.8.0, comes some major changes, the first of which is the new site. Since its birth, SiteX has lived in a subdomain of its creator BJ Sintay. But just as a bird has to leave its nest and learn to fly, so too does SiteX.

In the last few years BJ himself has taken a backseat and most of the development of SiteX has been done by me (Phil). With the launch of 0.8, in which BJ has had no direct involvement, he has allowed me take full control of the project, its development, and its hosting. I'm sure BJ will check-in occasionally to see how things are going, and offer help here and there.

From now on sitexcms.org will be the home of SiteX. SiteX will also be officially known as SiteX CMS, as other products named 'sitex' exist and we don't want ours to be confused with them. The old site http://sitex.bjsintay.com will continue to exist but only in the form of a redirect to the new site, and to serve the version checking script for installations previous to 0.8.0

A brief introduction to the new site:

  • Site content, as you can probably see, has been simplified greatly to get rid of 'information overload'.
  • Existing logins from the old site should work here also, unless you managed to sign up at the same time we were transferring the site.
  • Documentation for SiteX CMS is now mostly handled in our Wiki over at Sourceforge
  • Bug reports should be submitted using Trac at Sourceforge
