SiteX CMS currently requires magic_quotes_gpc and in some cases register_globals to be turned on on your server. Both magic_quotes_gpc and register_globals are depreciated in PHP 5.3, and removed in PHP 6.

Even though a release date has not yet been set for PHP 6, many hosting companies upgrading to PHP 5.3 already have their PHP configuration set to reflect changes coming in PHP 6. Hence, magic_quotes_gpc and register_globals are often turned off by default on the server. Our advice would be to start considering the implications of this already.

SiteX CMS will be updated to deal with this issue prior to the release of PHP 6. This is OK for new installs, but it does mean that if your webhost upgrades their PHP version, action will be required by you in order for earlier SiteX CMS websites to function normally. Either your existing install will need to be modified, or you will need to upgrade SiteX to the latest version.

Information will be available at about how to make the necessary modifications to SiteX yourself. We will also be offering a paid upgrade service for those who don't want to get their hands dirty.

More information will follow once we have a stable PHP 6 compatible SiteX version ready.
